Fronted by exciting and accomplished vocalist Kerry Hodgkin, acts include 2-7 piece jazz/swing bands, 14-17 piece swing big bands, 5-9 piece soul bands, solo vocalist, dance bands able to play strict tempo for ballroom and latin american dancing and all round function bands. Whether you're looking for ambient jazz or a full-on party atmosphere to dance the night away, Ladyblue Music has the band for you. LADYBLUE Ladyblue is a sophisticated band playing contemporary jazz, swing, latin, blues & mellow soul. For example, we cover artistes such as Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Norah Jones, Eva Cassidy, Van Morrison, Bill Withers, Nina Simone, Peggy Lee, etc. Ladyblue is available in duo to 7-piece formats, tailored to suit your specific requirements and budget. SOUL POSSESSION Soul Possession is a 5 to 9 piece Motown/Atlantic/Staxx soul band, available with horn section and both female & male vocalists. We cover repertoire made famous by Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Ike & Tina Turner, Ray Charles, The Commitments, The Blues Brothers & many more. We also keep the set up to date by adding repertoire by current artistes influenced by the Motown era, e.g. Duffy, Amy Winehouse & Joss Stone. A fantastic band for helping you dance the night away! THE LADYBLUE FUNCTION BAND & DANCE BAND The Ladyblue Function Band is an incredibly versatile band - a hybrid of Ladyblue and Soul Possession - ideal for all your corporate or function needs. We cover repertoire including jazz, swing, latin & blues - ideal for creating an atmosphere of sophistication. However, we can also turn up the heat with the Motown/Atlantic/Staxx soul repertoire with some Jump Jive & pop (e.g. Louis Prima, Chubby Checker, The Beatles) thrown in for good measure. Ideal for getting all ages up and dancing - it's like having 2 bands in 1! Available in duo to 7-piece format to suit any venue size or budget. As the LADYBLUE DANCE BAND we can also play strict tempo for Ballroom and Latin American dancing (e.g. Strictly Come Dancing). SOUNDS OF SWING ORCHESTRA A 14 to 17 piece big band recreating the classic sounds of the 30s/40s big band era. With music made famous by Glen Miller, Ella Fitzgerald, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Duke Ellington and many more... SHADES OF BLUE This vocal/guitar duo cover mellow jazz, latin and blues repertoire along with jazzy covers of soul/pop classics - sophisticated but fun. KERRY This solo vocalist has an incredible vocal and stylistic range, covering all genres from soul and pop through to country, rock, swing and disco. She works with quality backing tracks to give a full band sound at a fraction of the cost. Covering artistes as diverse as Aretha Franklin, Abba, Duffy, Kylie, Madonna, Queen, Marvin Gaye, Amy Winehouse, Eurythmics, The Supremes, Fairground Attraction, Whitney Houston, Elton John, Shania Twain, Macy Gray, The Carpenters, Peggy Lee, Jackie Wilson, Lulu and Smokie Robinson. |
